Nearby beaches include the easy access shores of Breakwater Beach and Shoalstone, perfect for a spot of rock pooling and a coastal adventure close to town, along with the sheltered, peaceful waters of Elberry Cove and St Mary’s Bay. Head along the coast path and you’ll also find the dramatic cliffs of Berry Head and Sharkham Point, offering endless trails for you and your four legged friend to discover and guaranteed to get tails wagging.

Dog Friendly Beaches in Brixham

Brixham is perfectly placed for exploring some of the English Riviera’s most beautiful dog friendly beaches. Just along the harbour, Breakwater Beach and Shoalstone offer easy access and rock pooling, making them a great spot for a coastal adventure close to town.

A short drive away, you’ll find the sheltered shores of Elberry Cove and St Mary’s Bay, both ideal for calm swims, peaceful walks and year round dog friendly access. Nearby Man Sands offers a more peaceful escape, with unspoilt shoreline and a quieter, more secluded feel perfect for relaxed coastal wanderings. Further afield, some of South Devon’s finest beaches such as Broadsands and Goodrington are waiting to be discovered, with dogs welcome outside the summer season.

Close to home, a stroll around Brixham’s working harbour and out along the breakwater to the lighthouse makes for an easy, scenic walk right on our doorstep, perfect for adding a stop at the pub along the way. The open beauty of Berry Head Nature Reserve is also just minutes away, with sweeping views across Torbay and the chance to spot seabirds and seals along the cliffs, making for one of the area’s most scenic walks and a firm favourite with four legged visitors.

For walks slightly further out, head along the South West Coast Path towards Sharkham Point, which offers dramatic cliff top views, sheltered coves and plenty of space to roam. For something a little wilder, Hardness Country Park follows quiet woodland trails through the heart of Brixham, perfect for dogs who like to explore.
